She mentioned the problem has gone away before and then come back later. I'm not sure if any one thing fixed the issue or if the fix is permanent or not. Un-synced and then re-sync the Teams library.Uninstalled Azure Information Protection and disabled it from Word.We were able to fix most of the issues for now using the following: This will reset OneDrives software configuration and settings. She has sufficient permissions on her machine, and I can't reproduce the issue on my machine, but I haven't tried logging into her machine with my account. Then enter the command below into Run box.The Word files are opened from her local OneDrive folder using File Explorer.DOCX which is weird because it's a brand new file already using.

Also if she does save this file, it gives another message that Word will upgrade her document to. By "Locked" I mean that auto-save is turned off and when she attempts to save, it wants her to save to some other location and it changes that document name to that weird "~1.DOC.docx" format.

For example, a file name Email Templates.docx will get renamed to EmailT~1.DOC.docx. The file truncates the name and adds "~1.DOC.docx". When she tries to save the file, it renames it and asks her to save it to a new location. When she opens them, auto-save is turned off. She created this file and it had synced previously.

I'm not sure if they are all related or are different issues. This is for a MS Teams / SharePoint document library she has synced down to her laptop. I have a user who is having all kinds of issues with OneDrive.
